Ok so the first is a giant painting I'm going to do based on the Abduction of Persephone. it has been done several times in art history but Hades is always bad guy in a black and white clear cut sort of way. Now, in the real world we do this as a simplification but we also know that there are two or more sides to every story. I researched the characters of Hades and Persephone a big, the story of the abduction and extrapolated some personality traits from them. I have some personal issues in my life right now that led me to this story and the main theme in the piece is rejection/shame. Hades is the main focus. He is shameful for having taking persephone from her mother and now despised himself. Although due to his selfishness and potentially lustful side he is not able to give her back. Persephone is innocence and hopeless of the situation. She has just been told that she is going to be in the underworld for 4 months of the year to a god she never wanted to be with. So its tragedy all around. More updates on this soon.
