The Great War, Star Wars and Zombies

So I have an assignment to do opposites. I decided to do war and peace. Originally I was going to do a painting of the fie art department at our school vs. the illustration department. Apparently, thats a cheesey idea. So I was looking at the Great War photos. I knew I wanted to capture that emotion, that vibe. So then Im thinking, why not Star Wars with a World War feel? A sketch later I think about my girlfriend, Cricket. She is a HUGE zombie fan. Huge. And I love her to death. And since she doesn't look at this blog, I'm revealing my plans for her X-mas present :D

These are the sketches I did:

I really hope she likes it. I'm trying to make her really happy and in addition broading my horizons. This will be the first time I've painted a zombie or anything in world war 1 so it should be interesting.

sketches for victorian painting and storyboard for storybook project

Hey guys. So these are sketches that I have been working on for an opposites paint (antique vs. modern) and a narrative photography piece. For the antique piece I was going to showcase a Victorian age woman standing prim and proper looking at the viewer with the smoke stacks and smog in the background. However, due to the fact that I have been saying that I was going to do an "Art War" piece of the illustration majors in the trenches, I feel that I must do that instead. Plus it'd be a hell of a lot more fun.

For the narrative photography piece I am
using mostly photos with a drawing in character, film elements, sound and music to tell the tale. The story is about a boy who is in an abstract city with bright colors and a beautiful girl dancing with him and a dog playing with them. Then the city becomes extremely distorted and twisted. The cityscape darkens and erodes. The boy sees some trees and runs to them to hide. From the trees he can see the city, girl and dog completely evaporated. He walks through the woods and a monster is there. He runs to a cave as the monster and forest are also evaporated. Inside the cave he sees old cave paintings and another girl, this time nude and very sexual. He is finally caught. The cave and him are evaporated and infected. At the end it is revealed that all of this was a dream, but that he is a boy who has a flesh eating disease that was not caught in time. The END.

Let me know what you think. And it you want to model for this let me know!!!!

New pictorial foundation drawing!!!!

Hey guys, I am so sorry that I have been neglecting this site. I do check it, its just a matter of having material to put up. However i do have A LOT of new updates.

1. I have made friends with two great illustrators/individuals, Dave and Ethan, this year. The three of us have been talking about a collaborative series of shorts stories revolving around dreams etc. I don't want to get to specific but we will be working on those throughout the next 2 or 3 months and possibly self publish it. If not it will be an online exclusive... for now. But I am working on one now for a school project which will involve photography, animation, film, music and audio, and digital painting. Then during winter break i will do a 3-6 page story but the pages will be whole painted canvases. In other works I'm doing 3-6 paintings this winter.

2. I wil also be working on an experimental mulitmedia illustration this winter. Only one though. It will involve a hair stylist, intricate makeup and a lot of work. But I will tell you it is just a step to something I have planned in a few more years.

3. I have a new drawing I just did!!!!! Here it is (with some detail shots)
